SUPPLY CHAIN AND LOGISTICS MANAGER
BIRMINGHAM

THE ROLE
- Planning and coordinating the transportation of materials across global locations
- Overseeing warehousing, packaging and distribution processes to ensure efficiency
- Tracking shipments and address delays, discrepancies, or logistical challenges promptly
- Ensuring that all logistics activities comply with local, national, and international trade regulations, including customs and import/export laws
- Staying updated on changes in regulations and adjusting processes accordingly
- Conducting audits to ensure adherence to compliance standards and address any violations
- Collaborating with third-party logistics providers, customs brokers and vendors to maintain smooth operations
- Negotiating contracts with logistics providers to optimise cost and service quality
- Acting as the main point of contact for regulatory agencies regarding compliance matters
- Identify and mitigate risks in the logistics and compliance processes, including delays, damage, or legal issues
- Develop contingency plans to address potential disruptions in the supply chain
- Providing regular reports on logistics performance, compliance status, and key metrics to leadership
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Considerable experience in logistics and compliance management
- A degree qualification in supply chain management, logistics or similar would be advantageous
- Strong understanding of international trade laws and customs regulations
- Certifications in logistics or compliance (e.g., CLTD, CCLS) are desirable
- Proficiency in logistics management software and systems (e.g., SAP, TMS)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication and negotiation skills for managing vendors and regulatory agencies
- Ability to manage complex logistics operations across multiple regions
