Meet the Team – HR Edition

We are very proud of the highly professional and personable service Intro Personnel has provided to both job seekers and companies in North Staffordshire for the last 13 years. We are one of the highest rated recruitment agencies in the local area and this is because of all the hard work and dedication our team puts in each day. Therefore, over the next few months, we will be introducing the team members at Intro Personnel. This month we will focus on the HR aspect of the team.

We took time to speak to both Emma, Recruitment Manager and Sophie, Recruitment Administrator who joined Intro Personnel from HR roles from a facilities management, retail, manufacturing and warehousing backgrounds.

  1. What made you go into recruitment?

Sophie: Within my previous HR role, I realised that I had a keen interest in recruitment and building relationships on a personable level. When the opportunity rose to join the Intro team, I found it to be an interesting and exciting opportunity to put my recruitment experience into use.

Emma: When returning back to my home city, Stoke-on-Trent, after 13 years of being away I initially contacted Intro Personnel as a job seeker and following the pre-screening process, it was mutually identified that with my HR background I had transferable skills to work within a recruitment agency, supporting the recruitment aspect and providing in-house HR support.

2. How does the HR function form part of your role?

Sophie: My CIPD qualification and HR background has instilled the importance of compliance, confidentiality and accurate record keeping, ensuring that Intro Personnel are compliant with right to work checks, assignment reviews, employee handbooks, and pension enrolment etc. In addition to ensuring compliance, I have the personal skills to put candidates and clients at ease and to communicate complex information in a user-friendly manner.

Emma: Similar to Sophie, I have a sound understanding of compliance, confidentiality, and interpersonal skills. Being a CIPD member, means that I am up to date with current employment law legislations to ensure that Intro Personnel are following good practices, and we also update our clients of any future changes, and can provide support for these.

3. What do you enjoy the most about working at Intro Personnel?

Sophie: One of my favourite aspects of the role is supporting clients in finding the right candidate. I enjoy communicating with clients to gain a thorough understanding and description of the role and the company culture. Within this, I have the opportunity to participate in site visits and meet with clients face-to-face to understand the job market and the environment where our candidate will be working.

Emma: I really like the personal aspect of the services Intro Personnel provide to both candidates and clients and our screening and selection process forms a big part of this. By contacting candidates to discuss in-depth their aspirations and previous working knowledge ensures that we are finding the right people for the right jobs. From my previous experience as a Hiring Manager, I didn’t always find this to be the case when using recruitment agencies. Intro Personnel really do stick by their ethos of finding “Great Opportunities for Great People”.

4. When you aren’t at Intro Personnel, what will we find you doing?

Sophie: Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my partner, family, and friends. I like to travel and experience different cultures. I also love a good bottomless brunch!

Emma:

Out of work you can find me socialising with my friends and family or going for walks with my pug, Pearl.
