PROCESS CHEMIST
LEEK AREA
FULL TIME HOURS
MONDAY TO FRIDAY 37.5 PER WEEK

THE ROLE
- Support and develop and scale up new products from laboratory to commercial manufacture
- Design, execute and evaluate laboratory studies and production trial
- Troubleshoot process issues and facilitate root cause investigation
- Improve safety, quality, yield, throughput and cost performance
- Monitor and report production KPIs, OEIs and kg/kg performance
- Support continuous improvement projects
- Support incident investigations, audits, MOC, COSHH and HAZOP activities
- Raise PCAs and implement corrective actions
- Propose modifications and troubleshooting to existing processes
- Design and introduce new processes in order to improve process efficiencies and support new product development, taking into account cost analysis and safety implications
- Direct and train plant operators and associated technical personnel when introducing new procedures, and codify these changes with accurate standard operating procedures
 WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Degree in Organic Chemistry or relevant chemical discipline
- Experience in chemical manufacturing, process development or industrial R&D
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office
- Process troubleshooting and problem analysis
- Understanding of manufacturing operations
- Knowledge of process change impacts on quality, throughput and efficiency
