Description

You will be responsible for the management, investigation and reduction of transport-related risk across the business, including goods in transit (GIT), road traffic collision (RTC), operational damage and compliance-related incidents. 

TRANSPORT RISK AND CLAIMS MANAGER
MIDDLEWICH AREA
MONDAY TO FRIDAY

FULL TIME HOURS

PERMANENT
£35K OTE
 

THE ROLE

  • Managing all GIT, RTC and operational damage claims from notification through to resolution
  • Investigating liability and challenging unjustified claims where appropriate
  • Liaising with insurers, brokers, solicitors, customers and third parties
  • Reviewing repair estimates, reserves and recovery opportunities
  • Identifying trends, repeat incidents and operational weaknesses
  • Conducting root-cause analysis across depots, ports, customers and fleet types
  • Supporting reduction of preventable damage through process improvement
  • Attending operational sites and customer locations when required
  • Assisting in developing inspection standards and damage prevention processes
  • Conducting driver debriefs and corrective discussions following incidents
  • Supporting driver coaching surrounding inspections, loading and operational best practice
  • Producing weekly and monthly management reports
  • Develop and maintain Power BI and Smartsheet reporting dashboards
  • Supporting operational audits and customer reviews
  • Monitoring subcontractor compliance processes including GIT insurance documentation, RAMS reviews and operational process adherence
  • Supporting compliance investigations and evidence gathering where required

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Experience within transport, logistics, fleet, insurance or operational claims
  • Strong investigation and problem-solving ability
  • Excellent communication and management skills
  • Ability to analyse operational trends and produce management reports
  • Confident using Microsoft Excel and reporting systems
  • Experience with Power BI or similar reporting platforms desirable
  • Strong understanding of transport operations and operational risk
