You will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the day-to-day operations to ensure efficiency, productivity, quality, and profitability. The role oversees operational functions managing through direct reports; Manufacturing, Quality Control/Analytical, Warehouse, Health, Safety & Environmental, and Maintenance, ensuring that business objectives are achieved.

THE ROLE
- Develop and implement operational plans, policies, and procedures to support company objectives
- Lead change management initiatives, minimizing business risks and promote continuous improvement and root cause analysis to ensure sustainable operations
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and performance metrics to track operational effectiveness and identify areas for improvement
- Ensure production and operational targets are achieved in line with quality, cost, and delivery requirements
- Oversee inventory management, warehousing, and support the distribution activities.
- Ensure that facilities, equipment, and machinery are properly maintained.
- Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs
- Support capital expenditure planning and asset management initiatives
- Monitor quality performance and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Support quality audits and certification requirements.
- Promote and enforce workplace health, safety, and environmental standards
- Be site management representative for external assessments
- Develop and sustain good working relationships with government bodies, namely H.S.E., Environment Agency and Local District Councils.
- Develop and manage operational budgets, ensuring that all site operational and service costs are controlled within agreed levels, and actively seek to reduce these costs wherever possible.
- Lead, coach, and develop operational teams and department managers.
- Review manufacturing and other operational procedures based on continual improvement in order to improve productivity
- Identify process inefficiencies and implement sustainable solutions
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Degree level education or equivalent experience in manufacturing/operations
- Ideally holding a SHE qualification (IOSH or NEBOSH)
- Significant operational management experience
- Experience managing multiple operational functions, including production, maintenance, warehouse, EHS and quality
- A good knowledge of financial management is required, with emphasis on cost and working capital
- Experience in leading continuous improvement and change management projects
