The number of unemployed people in Newcastle under Lyme and Stafford dropped by 14.92% and 31.7% respectively. The deputy chief executive of the Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce said that “it is clear that the recovery is still moving in the right direction as businesses are taking on more staff, including many young people through the very successful apprenticeship schemes”.
