Good luck Emma!

Today is our Branch Administrator Emma Cooper’s last day at Intro Personnel as she departs for a new adventure by moving to Liverpool to live with her fiancé.  Emma initially joined us as a temporary worker in early 2018 before becoming a permanent member of staff in July of that year.  We will be treating Emma to a lunch of her choice today and she has also brought us all some amazing wax melts and cakes!

All at Intro Personnel would like to thank Emma for her hard work over the last 4 years and wish her good luck in the next chapter of her new life!

The toughest recruitment market on record?

As we get to the 2 year anniversary of the UK going into the first Covid 19 lockdown, the CIPD have published their thoughts on the current candidate market and the challenges that face both employers and recruiters in filling the record number of vacancies available in the UK.  It makes for interesting reading and offers opinions on the effect of the furlough scheme, the drop in the available workforce caused by the pandemic leading to the early exit from the labour market by older workers (and Brexit) staff retention and the re-opening of the economy and its rise above pre pandemic levels by the end of 2021.

As part of their study, Yougov polling asked workseekers what they are looking for in a job offer.  Of the top 5, career development was 5th, which was slightly surprising as pre pandemic, this would have featured higher.  Pay and job security not surprisingly featured 1st and 2nd respectively and interestingly, hybrid working was 4th which is an indication of the post pandemic times we are living in.

The key to successfully filling vacancies is to make your vacancy as attractive as possible which is a message we have regularly been giving to our clients.  It is clear from talking to candidates and also looking at the surveys we regularly receive from the CIPD and REC that many of the traditional selling points of a job such as culture, company visions and even future prospects are not as important as they were to people.  In times of rising costs of living, people simply want to earn more and be secure in their employment.  However, we recognise the rise employment costs from April 22 mean that this is simply not as straightforward as it seems for many employers.

Intro Personnel pride ourselves on continuing to give our wide client base accurate, relevant job market information and strategic advice on how to market their vacancies and we continue to be committed to working in partnership with both our clients and candidates to find the best possible match for all parties.  We would encourage you to read more at CIPD Community
