Working within the operations maintenance function, this role is responsible for the maintenance, repair, testing and inspection of mechanical equipment site wide.

MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE ENGINEER

LEEK

FULL TIME – 8AM – 4.15PM MON-FRI

TEMPORARY – 3 MONTHS

£24 PER HOUR

THE ROLE

• Working safely and in compliance with all Health Safety and Environmental procedures and guidelines
• Engage in and support the continuous improvement culture - supporting relevant projects and modifications
• Providing support to the project team for planned maintenance ie. shutdowns
• Using the maintenance database system to ensure the planned mechanical maintenance scheduled work is completed on time and in full
• Responding to service requests from the engineering planner promptly, prioritising as appropriate
• Monitoring the engineering stores as items are removed, monitoring stock levels and sheets, reporting any items for re-order
• Liaise with the maintenance controller, process team leader and planner regarding resource, permit to work requirements and work priorities
• The control/supervision of service contractors attending site when required
• Assist in the daily completion of the maintenance shift handover log, ensuring all information is clear and accurate for the oncoming shift

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent trade apprenticeship
• Coded welder (stainless steel and carbon steel)
• Proven experience of working in an industrial mechanical environment as a Mechanical Fitter/Fabricator
