 The key responsibilities of this exciting opportunity will include:

  • Working with the Customs Compliance Manager to support and advise customers on all aspects of international exporting and importing requirements
  • Undertaking compliance audits of import and export processes and procedures with both suppliers and current locations to ensure our client meets the highest standards of Customs compliance
  • Assisting the Compliance Manager in maintaining the AEO accreditation by conducting regular audits and making changes where relevant
  • Raising issues on non-compliance to the Compliance Manager and International Management team and ensure remedial action is completed
  • Maintaining records, reporting and resolving non compliance of Customs import and export entry declarations, EAD, MSS data and Customs seizures relating to the International operation
  • Assisting in conducting audits to ensure the International Operations Department is compliant with company GDPR standards, recommending and implementing follow up action where required
  • Supporting the International Management team in ensuring the business is compliant with HMRC and Border Force regulations in line with AEO procedures in relation to the international and offshore operation
  • Conducting trend analysis on receipt of any escalations relating to export and inbound non-compliance and submitting a report of actions for resolution.
  • Investigating customer and supplier queries or complaints relating to the International and offshore operation
  • Providing weekly KPI updates to the International Management team on Customs, Customer Compliance and Operations as required
  • Supporting the International Management team in setting up new International accounts to ensure the successful operational implementation of new business

Interested applicants must be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Experience of working with HMRC and Border Force is essential
  • Customs and Operational Compliance experience is essential
  • Experience in checking accuracy and compliance of Customs documentation and processes is essential
  • Experience of working in an ETSF or Customs warehouse would be an advantage
  • A professional qualification in Customs Import/Export or International Trade an advantage
  • AEO knowledge and experience is desirable
  • Competent skills in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word is essential
