Due to a busy order-book, a market-leading, International Fluid Manufacturer is recruiting. This company produces a range of high performance, specialist products for a diverse and interesting range of industrial applications. The company is recognised as one of the world’s principal suppliers to manufacturing industries including Aerospace, Automotive, Energy, Food, Paper and Steel and have their UK headquarters, laboratories, and manufacturing plant in Stoke-on-Trent.

The Driver / Shunter role will be working weekly rotating shifts (6am-2pm/10pm-6am/2pm-10pm), involve effective teamwork, within a busy manufacturing environment and will include;

  • Shunting: Driving tankers around site, off-loading, washing tankers in preparation for loading, flush vehicle pumps, take samples to be tested, daily tanker checks to ensure vehicle is safe to use, complete daily housekeeping checks.
  • Bulk Loading: Connecting tanks to a decanting system in order to take the oil to the tanker loading arms, ensure the correct product is loaded in the correct pots, ensure correct quantities are loaded.
  • Blending: Working on the manufacturing plant, charging additives into manufacturing vessels, taking samples, flushing manufacturing vessels, fetching additives from the raw material warehouse, completing daily housekeeping checks.

Applicants for the Driver / Shunter vacancy should have;

  • Flexible working attitude, working a 3-shift system and flexible to work overtime if required.
  • In-date Counterbalance FLT license is ideal.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Working at heights and outdoors.
  • Ideally with previous batch process manufacturing or blending experience, but not essential as training can be provided for this area of the role.
